What is GentleFit?
GentleFit is a gentle exercise app designed for seniors and older adults. It offers 48 exercises across 6 categories — Chair Workouts, Balance & Stability, Joint & Flexibility, Heart & Circulation, Breathing & Calm, and Morning Routines — each with guided video and step-by-step instructions.
Do I need any equipment?
No equipment is required for most exercises. A sturdy chair is recommended for Chair Workouts and Balance exercises. All movements are designed to be safe and gentle for everyday home use.
Is my data stored online or on my device?
All your data — profile, workout history, and progress stats — is stored exclusively on your device. GentleFit does not operate any backend servers. Deleting the app removes all associated data permanently.
What is the difference between Free and Premium?
Free users get access to the first 4 exercises in each category (24 exercises total) and basic stats (streak, sessions, monthly minutes). Premium unlocks all 48 exercises, detailed weekly activity charts, and priority support.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel: open your device Settings → tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions → GentleFit → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Can I restore a previous purchase on a new device?
Yes. Open the Premium modal inside GentleFit and tap "Restore Previous Purchase" at the bottom. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
How is my streak calculated?
Your streak counts consecutive days with at least one completed workout. If you miss a day, the streak resets to 0. The streak picks up again as soon as you complete a workout.
Can I use GentleFit on both iPhone and iPad?
Yes. GentleFit is optimised for both iPhone and iPad. The layout automatically adapts to each screen size for a comfortable experience on any device.
I accidentally deleted my data. Can it be recovered?
Unfortunately, no. Because all data is stored locally on your device and never synced to a server, deleted data cannot be recovered. We recommend not using "Delete All Data" unless you are certain you want to start fresh.

Fix Common Issues

Videos are not playing

  • Make sure your device is not in Low Power Mode (it can pause video playback).
  • Check that your device volume is not muted — exercise videos play with sound off by default.
  • Close and reopen the app, then try again.
  • If the issue persists, delete and reinstall the app.

My streak or stats are showing 0

  • Stats are only updated after completing a full workout session (tap "Complete Workout").
  • If you tapped "Back" instead of completing, the session was not saved.
  • Streaks reset at midnight based on your device's local time zone.

Daily reminders are not appearing

  • Open device Settings → Notifications → GentleFit and ensure notifications are allowed.
  • Make sure you tapped "Allow" on the notification permission prompt when first setting up the app.
  • Check that Do Not Disturb / Focus Mode is not blocking GentleFit notifications.

Profile photo is not saving

  • Go to device Settings → Privacy → Photos → GentleFit and ensure photo library access is set to "Selected Photos" or "All Photos".
  • For camera: Settings → Privacy → Camera → GentleFit must be enabled.

Premium purchase not unlocking

  • Tap "Restore Previous Purchase" in the Premium screen to re-link your subscription.
  • Make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID used for the purchase.
  • If the issue continues, contact our support team with your Apple Order ID.

App crashes or freezes

  • Force-close the app and reopen: double-press Home (or swipe up on Face ID devices) and swipe GentleFit away.
  • Restart your device.
  • Check for an app update in the App Store.
  • If crashes are frequent, please email us with your device model and iOS version.

GentleFit is built with your privacy as the top priority. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your rights as a user. The short version: everything stays on your device, and we never share it with anyone.

Data Collected

GentleFit stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • User profile — name, age group, fitness goal, and optional profile photo
  • Workout sessions — exercise ID, category, date, and duration
  • App preferences — reminder settings, premium status

This data is stored using your device's local storage. It is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or external system.

How We Use It

The data stored locally is used exclusively to:

  • Display your personalised dashboard (streak, progress, stats)
  • Remember your profile and preferences between sessions
  • Send optional workout reminder notifications (only if you grant permission)

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing you with the app experience.

Third-Party Services

GentleFit does not integrate any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or third-party tracking libraries.

The following Apple system services are used:

  • Local Notifications — for optional daily workout reminders (on-device only)
  • StoreKit — to process Premium subscription payments through Apple's secure payment system
  • Camera / Photo Library — to set a profile photo (accessed only when you initiate it)
  • App Store Review — to request an optional app rating (triggered by Apple's SKStoreReviewController)

All payments are handled entirely by Apple. GentleFit never sees or stores your payment information.

Tracking

GentleFit does not track you. Specifically:

  • We do not link your data with third-party data for advertising
  • We do not share your data with data brokers
  • We do not use ATTrackingManager.requestTrackingAuthorization()
  • The app has no advertising identifier (IDFA) access

Our App Store Connect privacy settings reflect: No data used for tracking.

Children's Privacy

GentleFit is designed for adults aged 50 and older. The app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us and we will assist immediately.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:

  • Access — All data is visible within the app (Profile and Progress screens)
  • Delete — Use Settings → Delete All Data to erase everything instantly
  • Export — Not currently supported; data resides in your device's app storage
